Folklore & History Roses have been treasured for their beauty and fragrance for centuries, symbolizing love and purity in many cultures. Petals were traditionally scattered at weddings to ensure a happy marriage. Because of the low yield (4,000 kg of flowers produce just 1 kg of oil), rose oil is highly expensive. The Bulgarian rose, from the famed Rose Valley, is considered the most prized and luxurious of all rose oils.
